Got kids with energy to burn? Friends who love free stuff? A secret dream of meeting a mermaid or launching a whipped cream pie at someone in a swim cap? Youāre in luckāSplash Day 2025 is making waves this Sunday, August 17, from 12ā4pm at Ocean First (3015 Bluff St.) ā and itās totally FREE.
This annual event is Boulderās unofficial end-of-summer splash party, packed with fun for the whole family. Whether youāre a seasoned swimmer or someone whoās only dipped a toe in Scott Carpenter Pool, thereās something here for you:
š§āāļø Meet a mermaid ā Yes, a real one (at least, according to your 5-year-old). Perfect for photos and wide-eyed wonder.
𤿠Try snorkeling ā Ever wanted to breathe underwater? Hereās your chance to do it in a safe, supportive environment.
š Water safety workshops & swim evaluations ā Learn essential skills to feel confident around water (for kids and adults).
šØ Arts & crafts, snacks, and outdoor games ā So much fun youāll barely realize youāre learning something too.
š„§ Pie your swim instructor ā The most satisfying splash of the day, guaranteed.
š Giveaways at 3:30pm ā Must be present to win. Might be something cool, might be something inflatable!
The whole thing is hosted by the aquatic pros at Ocean First, a hub for swim lessons, scuba training, and marine conservation in Boulder.
