Travis Hunter Wins the 2024 Heisman Trophy 🏆
Colorado football fans, rejoice! The University of Colorado’s Travis Hunter has made history as the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner, becoming the first two-way player to receive the prestigious award since Charles Woodson in 1997. Hunter’s groundbreaking season has been nothing short of legendary. As a cornerback and wide receiver, he dominated both sides of the ball for Coach Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes: • Offense: 92 receptions, 1,152 yards, and 14 touchdowns, putting him among the nation’s elite. • Defense: 15 passes defended, 4 interceptions, and a game-winning forced fumble. • Total Impact: A whopping 1,443 snaps across offense, defense, and special teams. |
This incredible versatility earned Hunter Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honors and first-team All-Big 12 recognition as both a defensive back and receiver—a rare feat. He also swept national awards, winning the Walter Camp, Bednarik, and Biletnikoff Awards, solidifying his status as college football’s brightest star.
In his heartfelt acceptance speech, Hunter credited his mother, fiancée, and Coach Prime for helping him overcome challenges and shaping his journey. Colorado fans can look forward to one more show-stopping performance as Hunter takes the field for the Alamo Bowl against BYU on Dec. 28 before he heads to the 2025 NFL Draft.
With this win, Travis Hunter becomes Colorado’s second Heisman Trophy winner, joining the late Rashaan Salaam (1994), and cements his place in college football history. Congratulations, Travis! 🦬🏈
