Volunteer Opportunities in Boulder

Feeling inspired to make a difference this holiday season? Here’s how you can get involved and give back to the Boulder community:
1. Help Maintain Boulder’s Open Spaces
• Organization: Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP)
• What They Do: Preserve and protect Boulder’s beautiful natural areas through programs, projects, and events.
• How You Can Help: Sign up for a one-day project or an ongoing opportunity to assist with trail maintenance, habitat restoration, or educational programs.
2. Adopt and Beautify a Public Spot• Organization: City of Boulder’s Adopt-a-Spot Program • What They Do: Maintain medians, parks, and public areas to keep Boulder looking its best. • How You Can Help: Adopt a spot for a year and commit to monthly visits to clean, weed, and beautify the area. Great for individuals or groups! | 3. Support Local Food Banks• Organization: EFAA & Harvest of Hope Pantry • What They Do: Provide groceries and essential items to families and individuals in need. • How You Can Help: Volunteer to stock shelves, assist shoppers, or sort food donations. |
4. Care for Shelter Animals• Organization: Humane Society of Boulder Valley • What They Do: Provide care, shelter, and adoption services for animals in need. • How You Can Help: Volunteer for hands-on tasks like cleaning kennels, doing laundry, or fostering pets during the holidays. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old. | 5.
